Fosdinovo is an ancient medieval village that is home to one of the most beautiful Malaspina castles. At an altitude of 550 m, the village offers a breathtaking view over the entire valley. On clear days, it is possible to see some of the islands of the Tuscan archipelago and even Corsica. In front, the mouth of the river Magra, the Ligurian and then Tuscan Riviera and the valley. Behind it, the majestic Apuan Alps, characterised by white marble quarries. 

Fosdinovo is located in the province of Massa-Carrara - in Tuscany - and is about 16 km from Carrara and 8 km from Sarzana - in Liguria. 



The locality of Caniparola



Caniparola, although in the municipality of Fosdinovo (in Tuscany), is in the valley, a 2-minute drive from Sarzana (in Liguria). The nearest beaches are a 15-minute drive away. In Caniparola one can find all the necessary services: pharmacy, post office, supermarket, bars and restaurants.



Distance from cities of art and infrastructure



The nearest motorway exit to Caniparola is Sarzana.

The village is about 50 minutes' drive from Pisa airport and about 1h 30 from Genoa airport. 

For rail connections, the Sarzana station or alternatively the Carrara-Avenza and La Spezia Centrale stations are recommended.

Caniparola is about 2h 30 from Milan, 2 hours from Florence, 4h 30 from Rome and 4h from Venice.
